Therapy that meets you where you are.
How I Work
I see the best in others, and want to help you see this in yourself too! I fully believe when we can wholeheartedly accept ourselves, and honestly and compassionately explore what's working and what's not, and what we truly value in life, then we can create meaningful change.
I feel really fortunate to get to do the work I do, and believe one of the best gifts we can both give and receive is to truly see and accept someone as they are, in this moment. This is what I strive to offer each person I meet in therapy
Approaches
I focus on understanding emotions, the mind-body connection, and self compassion and acceptance. My approach is collaborative, rooted in the belief that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for effective therapy. You get to be the expert in your life, and I will support and encourage you along the way.
I integrate mindfulness based practices, Somatic interventions, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
What to expect.
Therapy with me is an active process. I may ask you to experiment and try on some new things, however the final say is always with you. I am not a therapist who will give you a formalized, step by step process to get from point A to point B. I believe that we are all unique and our circumstances differ, and therefore how you achieve your goals will be specific to you.
You can expect that I will provide you with kind, honest and direct feedback, share any knowledge I have that I think may be valuable to you, and highlight patterns and beliefs about yourself, others and the world that may be impacting your goals, so that we can explore these together from a place of curiosity. I will show up in an honest and authentic way and invite you to do the same, so that we can fully take advantage of our time together.
